IS TECHNOLOGY LEAVING BEHIND WOMEN??

With advancement of technology every day, it becomes essential for everyone to strike the rapid speed of their updating. With so many gadgets, cellular phones, iPods and ipads around, there is no stopping to the world going techno-savvy. But the main botheration is- Are women able to catch up?

Today’s women having so much to do in her routine .i.e. acting the backbone of her family, being a responsible working women , socializing and so on. There is so much to do for her in so less time. It has been generally noticed that despite of the considerable growth in the nature of jobs from manual to going high tech, the gender disparity has always exceeded majorly in the corporate world. With so many options among the labor pool, the world has grounded the manual actions of people. The people with engineering, math and science backgrounds are also opting for techno oriented jobs.

According to statistics published by Labor Dept. Report, The ratio of women engineers is diminishing extensively. With women representing 3 out of every 10 system analysts, female scientists are also diminished to 30% of the field. The actual reason is not clear, that weather the interest of women is lowered down or weather the opportunities are less! As technology has been stereotyped for geeks, in the same manner there has been no area which is totally taken over or ruled by women. There are very few female top executives who are still running major technological corporations.

The concerned industry has quite few women in number than the broader corporate world. Lesser the number of women issuing the leadership roles more is the unfavorable effect in the world of technology. In order to break down the barriers of developing talents, Mentoring them further, socializing and creating opportunities that relate to women’s work, life sensibilities are essential to reverse the trend.
